“Suppose John McCain had been Joan McCain and Joan McCain had got captured, shot down and been a POW for eight years. [The media would ask], ‘What did you do wrong to get captured? What terrible things did you do while you were there as a captive for eight years?’” Steinem said, to laughter from the audience.McCain was, in fact, a prisoner of war for around five-and-a-half years, during which time he was tortured repeatedly. Referring to his time in captivity, Steinem said with bewilderment, “I mean, hello? This is supposed to be a qualification to be president? I don’t think so.”
So Gloria, I guess a true qualification to be president is to blame your husband's blowjobs on a vast right wing conspiracy.
I'm not a big McCain fan but it's people like this and the NY Times who call attention to the fact that we can't let liberals win on anything.

I'm no McCain fan either but...
Gloria, you are so cute when you're wrong. When are you going to get it through that pretty little head of yours that there is no single qualification for president?
Let me teach you a few things about life little girl. I'll put it in a way even a cute chick like you can understand. One needs a combination of traits, rolled into a human being with excellent character to qualify for that office. Surviving a POW camp for six years with no assurace of ever coming home would not only build one's character, it would prove it.
So you better not walk down that road Gloria. (Although you're caboose does look good when you do.) You'd be better off propping up the character of your own nominee, because he, she, or it will need it.
I just get my ass in a bunch for the lack of grace by the same people who wouldn't cross the street for their own country.
